PromptPerfect is closing. Here is a different kind of replacement.
PromptPerfect’s own site says it will no longer be available after 1 September 2026, after Jina AI was acquired by Elastic. They point people to jina.ai for search and embeddings — not to a successor prompt tool.
If you wanted a huge public prompt library, Promptnator is the wrong buy. If you dump messy thoughts and need a structured prompt for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or Midjourney, that is the job we built.
Before
PromptPerfect is shutting down. What do I use now?
After
If you only needed a searchable catalog of other people’s prompts, use a notes app or another library. If you need a rant turned into Role, Tone, Audience, and a paste-ready prompt — then tested — try Promptnator. Free account. No card.
What actually shut down
On promptperfect.jina.ai, the banner reads: following Jina AI’s acquisition by Elastic in October 2025, PromptPerfect will no longer be available after 1 September 2026.
We did not build Promptnator as “the official PromptPerfect successor.” There isn’t one on their page. This page is only a comparison so you do not switch into the wrong kind of tool.
Two different jobs
PromptPerfect alternative searches usually mean: I want better prompts without living in a paid template mall.
Promptnator is a compiler with a polisher, not a marketplace of other people’s prompts.
Prompt rewriting changes the wording. Prompt compilation interprets the intent, flags missing information, structures the task, and prepares the prompt for the model you will actually use.
Side by side
Catalog size: PromptPerfect wins. We are not a giant public library.
Messy input: Promptnator is built for rants and voice dumps.
Compile targets: we format for chat, image, video, and code agents (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, Midjourney, and more).
Proof: Test Bench A/B tests your raw rant against the compiled prompt on the same model.
Price: Promptnator has a free account path. No credit card to start. Paid is monthly, cancel anytime: Pro $7.99/mo, Premium $19.99/mo.
Honest take
If you already know the prompt you want and only need a searchable library, PromptPerfect (while it lasted) or a notes app can be enough. We are the wrong buy for that.
If the input is messy and you want Role / Tone / Audience plus a target formatter — and a way to see whether the compiled version is actually better — that is Promptnator.
